Antique Victorian (1837-1901) bar brooch featuring garnet gemstones set in gold. The garnet stones are set into the bar brooch with a central flower motif, the stones are faceted and set into garnet gold. Garnet gold is a lower grade of gold, Garnet gold was used in the garnet jewellery during the Victorian era.
Garnets were used extensively in all different designs of Victorian jewellery, bracelets, rings, brooches and elaborate necklaces, they represent the birthstone of January.
MEASUREMENTS
The brooch measures 4cms / 1.5" in length and 1.6cm / 0.6" in width.
CONDITION
The brooch is in excellent antique condition.
